Swiss pensions system

The Pension Fund as part of the Swiss pensions system

The pension system in Switzerland is based on the three-pillar system: the state pension and disability insurance (OASI/DI) provide for a minimum level of subsistence, which is supplemented by the occupational pension scheme and private savings.

Together with the OASI/DI and private savings, the pension funds form one of the supporting pillars of the Swiss three-pillar system to provide cover against the economic consequences of old age, disability and death. Both the state pension (pillar 1) and the occupational pension (pillar 2) are compulsory.

The benefits from these two insurance schemes together should allow reasonable living standards to be maintained. The Syngenta Pension Fund offers benefits that extend well beyond the minimum benefits required by law.
